TKMS Band
Griffins National Anthem Performance
Saturday, January 16th, 2010
Dear Parents and Students,
This letter is regarding the TKMS Band performance of the National Anthem at the Grand Rapids Griffins game on Saturday, January 16th. We have over 75 students performing that evening as well as 175 family members going in support of the band! We should have a successful and fun time at the hockey game that evening. Here is an approximate time line of that evening’s events:
5:00 PM – Students report to the TKMS Band Room to get instrument (in case) and music. Mr. Hagemann will be in the TKMS lobby to distribute tickets. Each student will receive an envelope labeled with their name containing their own individual ticket as well as any additional tickets ordered. Tickets will be distributed so that students and family members are seated together.
** If for some reason you need the tickets ahead of time just let me know and I will send them home with your child. Otherwise, tickets will be distributed that evening at school.
5:15 PM – Students and family members electing to ride the bus depart TKMS.
6:15 PM – Busses arrive at Van Andel Arena. All student performers will enter the arena at the Southeast entrance.
6:30 PM – Band gets organized and warms up.
7:00 PM – Performance of the National Anthem on the ice at Van Andel Arena!
7:15 PM – Band members join their family at their seats.
9:30 PM – (approximate) Game ends, students retrieve instruments from storage area, busses are loaded and depart. Students may ride home with a parent, however, please inform me ahead of time of your plans! (See below) It is important that I have each student accounted for on the trip home to TKMS.
10:15 PM – (approximate) Busses arrive at TKMS.
ATTIRE: Students should wear the TKMS Band T-Shirt and a nice pair of blue jeans (please, no stylish holes in the knees, etc.). The T-Shirt MUST BE TUCKED IN DURING OUR PERFORMANCE!!
HOCKEY ETIQUETTE: Ushers will hold fans at the stairwells until the puck is out of play. Also, students should not get out of their seats while the puck is in play. Students are free to use the restroom and go to concession stands when they wish, but must come back to their seats promptly.
